The anime went through one season and for all intents and purposes is over but the manga is still being published in LaLa.
The story centers around Haruhi Fujioka, who is a scholarship student at the super elite Ouran Academy where "lineage comes first, money a close second." She cant afford the school uniform, which runs at $3000, because she lives alone with her father, who is an okama, cross-dresser, who works at a club. Her mother, who was a lawyer, died when she was a child.
While trying to find a place at school to study she comes across the Host Club, where six very good looking boys of various grades entertain the female students who designate them. Because she wears oversized shirts and pants most of her classmates assumed that she was a guy. So while she's trying to escape the Host Club she breaks an $800,000 vase and is forced to work for the club to pay it off.
That's where the hilarity really begins. The first episode is so funny and runs through the Host Club members pretty quickly. They're all the super rich and just perfect, good-looking, rich guys. The president of the club is Tamaki Suoh, the "Prince" type, Vice President: Kyouya Ootori, who is the "Cool" type, they're second years. Mitsukuni Haninozuka, "loli-shota" (young boys) type, and Takashi Morinozuka, "Wild" type, are third years and the youngest members are Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin, they're the "naughty" type, they're Haruhi's age.
I dont want to say much more but if you liked Hana-Kimi then you might love this. I highly suggest it. For more info on the show you can go to:

<Oh, and if you love to speculate about shippers then you're going to love Ouran because there are a lot of potential ships. (I mean, think about it, 6 boys and 1 girl?)
